With Hatchett’s commitment Monday afternoon, the Sooners gained a clearer and brighter picture of the offensive line Oklahoma will take with it into the SEC in 2024.

The biggest development in Oklahoma’s offseason rebuild on the offensive line may have arrived Monday afternoon when Washington guard Geirean Hatchett committed to the Sooners out of the transfer portal.

Hatchett arrives in Norman as a fifth-year junior with two seasons of remaining eligibility and represents OU’s fourth transfer addition on the offensive line as the Sooners prepare to replace starters at all five positions up front. But while questions hover over fellow offensive line newcomers Spencer Brown, Febechi Nwaiwu and Michael Taruqin, Hatchett steps in as a likely instant impact starter at right guard.
